Discover the living world beneath your feet in this interactive, hands-on workshop focused on Soil Food Web microscopy. Learn why soil biology matters and how to use a microscope to identify key organism groups to assess soil health.

The session combines a brief overview with extensive guided microscope time in small groups and is suitable for all skill levels. Bring your own soil or compost samples to explore, and a microscope if you have one.

Participation is at capacity, but you can still register to be placed on the wait list.

This Field Day is offered at the Open Space Visitor Center in collaboration between Habitat Farms Collective, Soil Health Collective and NM Healthy Soil Working Group.

The Open Space Visitor Center is a learning and demonstration center offering weekly volunteer days with Habitat Farms Collective (Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9 am to 3 pm) and conducting free public workshops once a month.
