Build a Johnson-Su Bioreactor

Join us for a full day of hands-on learning at the Northern New Mexico College El Rito Campus greenhouse. Together we will assemble and fill a Johnson-Su bioreactor — a simple structure for producing biologically rich compost that provides the ideal basis for extracts and inoculants to improve soil health and plant vitality.

Participants will learn the principles behind living soil, how the Johnson-Su system works, and how to apply its outputs in a garden or agricultural setting. The day includes group assembly of the bioreactor, a shared tamale lunch, and an afternoon session filling and completing the structure.

This is a working class — come ready to get your hands dirty and leave having built something that will benefit the greenhouse for seasons to come.

No prior composting experience required.
