DONATE ALL OR PART OF YOUR STATE TAX REFUND TO THE HEALTHY SOIL PROGRAM TO SUPPORT FARMERS AND RANCHERS IN SOIL STEWARDSHIP:

Any New Mexico tax paying resident who qualifies for a refund on their personal income tax return can voluntarily donate all or part of their refund to the Healthy Soil Program administered by the New Mexico Department of Agriculture (NMDA).

In 2022 (the first year this contribution option was available) NMDA received over 600 individual donations. Thank you and let’s keep it going!

If you are due a refund on your New Mexico Personal Income Tax, you have the opportunity to donate all or part to a special fund using the PIT- D, Schedule for New Mexico Voluntary Contributions, when you file your taxes.

Participating is as easy as 1-2-3:

1. Read the Voluntary Contributions Instructions: 2022 PIT-D Instructions

2. Download the Voluntary Contributions Schedule: 2022 PIT-D Form

3. Enter your contribution to the HEALTHY SOIL PROGRAM on line 18.

NOT DUE A REFUND? YOU CAN STILL PARTICIPATE:

Please send contributions directly to
New Mexico Department of Agriculture
3190 S. Espina St.
Las Cruces, New Mexico 88003

Important: For the HEALTHY SOIL PROGRAM, checks should be made payable to “New Mexico Department of Agriculture” with “Healthy Soil Program” in the memo.

What does the Healthy Soil Program do?
Administered by the New Mexico Department of Agriculture (NMDA), the Healthy Soil Program provides voluntary incentives to farmers and ranchers to implement management principles that result in greater soil health and associated co-benefits.
